Meet Dave Wescott
Dave grew up in this community. He's a graduate of Stockdale High School, Bakersfield College, and CSUB. After finishing his education, he served his country as a U.S. Marine.
Today he practices law locally. In 2027, his oldest child starts high school in KHSD. That's the beginning of seven years of Dave and his wife raising kids in our district's high schools.
This race is personal for him. He's not just running for a seat on the board. He's running to represent the students for the schools his own kids are about to attend.
Dave believes KHSD students deserve a board that sets clear priorities and holds itself accountable to them. Here's where he stands.

Dave believes decisions about our schools should be grounded in real results, not guesswork. He'll push for clear, transparent academic data that parents and taxpayers can see and understand.
CRITICAL THINKING
Colleges and labor unions are both asking for graduates who can think critically and solve problems, not just follow instructions. Dave will work to bring that emphasis into KHSD classrooms.
TECHNOLOGY BALANCE
Technology has a place in the classroom, but not at the expense of fundamental skills like reading, writing, and math. Dave will push for a KHSD that treats technology as a tool, not a replacement for the basics.
